ABOUT MALTA
The Maltese Islands are located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, just 96 km south of Sicily. The population is distributed on the Islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino which together make up around 400,000 people.

Being one of the thriving economies in the European Union, the Republic of Malta enjoys a stable political and economic environment.
The country has been a member of the European Union since 2004 and is part of Schengen since 2007.

RESIDENCY BY INVESTMENT
The Malta Residence and Visa Programe is known as the MRVP and allows for investors to qualify for permanent residence status in Malta, providing they meet the required criteria.
Investors should also satisfy all of the below requirements:-
INVEST IN TO BOND
An investment in government bonds of EUR €250,000 to be retained for a minimum period of five years.
FINANCE OPTION: You may choose to finance this investment by leveraging a loan of the same amount for just EUR €75,000.
A non-refundable government contribution of EUR €30,000 (EUR €5,500 of which is an advance government administrative fee).
PURCHASE OF PROPERTY
A property purchase of EUR €320,000 (EUR €270,000 in South Malta or Gozo), OR a property lease of EUR €12,000 per annum (EUR €10,000 in South Malta or Gozo).
GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTION
A non-refundable government contribution of EUR €30,000 (EUR €5,500 of which is an advance government administrative fee).
Other Required Criteria:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have an annual income of not less than EUR €100,000 arising outside of Malta, or has in his possession a capital of not less than EUR €500,000.
Have a stable, regular resource of funds sufficient to maintain him/herself and any of his/her dependants.
Be in good health.
Have a clean criminal record.

PROCESS
You are required to make the full contribution to the National Development and Social Fund within 20 days of receiving the request letter.
The Maltese Government will process the application and complete due diligence checks.
Identity Malta will confirm if documentation submitted are formally in order.
Once due diligence is complete you will receive an approval in principle.
This is the approval of the process conditional only to the fulfilment of the obligations of the IIP.
You are required to make the full contribution to the National Development and Social Fund within 20 days of receiving the request letter.
You are then required to make the investments, either directly with the full investment or via the finance model.
Once all of the above requirements have been satisfied, your residence card will then be issued.
